22 June 2016 | CHHagosojos |Partner donors and graduating scholars were given recognition during the Isang Parangal…Isang Pasasalamat, ika-2 taon conducted by the Scholarships and Financial Assistance Division (SFAD) on 22 June 2016 at the Makiling Hall, 2/F SU Building.
Dr. Nina M. Cadiz, OSA director, congratulated the graduating scholars and thanked the partner donors during her welcoming remarks. She emphasized that the donor partners and sponsors have made huge impacts on the lives of the scholars through their assistance.
In the inspirational message delivered by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Portia G. Lapitan, she expressed the gratitude of the university to the donors. "You are actually our partners in shaping the minds that will shape the nation," she said. She also congratulated the graduating scholars. "Greatness was expected of you, and I know that greatness is what you have achieved today," she remarked.
The donors received plaques of appreciation for their support to the Iskolar para sa Bayan. The graduating scholars, on the other hand, received certificates of recognition.
Bon Joverick Magbojos, former Vicente Bello Scholar, shared how his scholarship has helped him with his education. He inspired the scholars to not give up despite the failures they might experience. "Isipin po natin kung para saan ba ang ating ginagawa (Let us remember the reasons behind what we do)," he said.
Ms. Jenette Lory P. Tamayo, SFAD head, delivered the closing remarks. Tamayo thanked the donors and encouraged the graduating scholars to help other students in need by becoming donors in the future.
