OSA holds its annual job fair for graduating students
17 June 2015 | KNVBeato |
More than 750 hopefuls attended the annual job fair held at the Makiling Hall, Student Union Building, UPLB. Students and alumni from UPLB and other campuses gathered at the hall for the three-day event organized by the Counseling and Testing Division (CTD).
To formally begin the event, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Julieta A. Delos Reyes was assisted by OSA Director Nina M. Cadiz and CTD Head Ms. Janett A. Dolor for the ribbon-cutting.
Prof. Delos Reyes challenged the attendees to always do their best when they pursue their endeavors. "Remember when you go out in the field, when you join the workforce, ang dala-dala niyo is not only yourself, not only your name, not only your father's and mother's names, kung hindi ang pangalan ng premiere university, ang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas," she added.
Aspiring employees got the chance to know what the participating companies offer and the qualities they look for in an applicant. Representatives from the 30 organizations assessed the applicants through interviews.
"Hindi basta-basta dumarating ‘yung opportunities kaya ako na mismo ang pumunta dito," Paul Samuel Lacap, a graduating BS Applied Math student, shared. The job fair served as a glimpse of what the graduates would experience once they step outside the real world.
