Sachiyo represents UPLB in 45th Annual Search for the Three Most Outstanding International Students of the Philippines

Outstanding International Student of the Philippines Ikeda Sachiyo with OSA Director Leticia E. Afuang Ikeda Sachiyo, a Japanese Veterinary Medicine student, represented UPLB in the 45th Annual Search for the Three Most Outstanding International Students of the Philippines.

Sachiyo was chosen as representative after the recommendation of Dr. Maria Catalina T. De Luna, College Secretary of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and the endorsement of the Search Committee composed of Dr. Erick Vernon Y. Dy, Prof. Zoilo D. Belano, Ms. Zenaida S. Loberiza and Director Leticia E. Afuang.

The screening was held on August 24, 2014 at the Jose Rizal University.

The proclamation and awarding rites for the competition was conducted on September 25, 2014 at Hotel Benilde in Malate, Manila. Sachiyo was recognized as one of the outstanding international students of the Philippines.

The search is an annual activity of the Philippine International Friendship Association, Inc. (PIFO), now named Philippine International Friendship and Understanding Association (PIFUA). The aim of the event is to identify potential leaders, encourage academic excellence and social involvement among international students, and nurture friendship and understanding among them.
