Student leaders, Student Affairs director converge in 3rd ASLF
30 June 2014 | LEAfuang |
Driven by the theme Youth with vision – Establishment of youth leaders as ASEAN unit, the ASEAN University Network (AUN) held its 3rd ASEAN Student Leaders Forum (ASLF) at the University of Brunei Darussalam on June 23-28, 2014. OSA Director Leticia E. Afuang, University Student Council Chairperson Allen Lemence, and Student Regent Neil John Macuha represented UPLB in the forum.
ASLF is an annual event organized to establish cooperation among student leaders of ASEAN countries, to further develop their leadership skills and to provide an avenue for them to share relevant knowledge and experiences.
The forum consisted of plenary sessions, discussions, community outreach program, and leadership workshop for the students. The OSA vice presidents, vice chancellors and directors had their separate discussions and activities.
The event also became a good opportunity for the representatives from the Philippines to meet for the preparations of the 2016 ASLF which will happen in Manila.
The University of the Philippines, Ateneo, and Dela Salle are the only three universities recognized by the ASEAN University Network (AUN).
