CTD conducts Pre-Employment Seminar for Graduating Students

Two-hundred twenty-eight graduating students attended the Pre-Employment Seminar on 14 June 2016 at the Makiling Hall, SU Building.
The Pre-Employment Seminar is an annual event conducted by the Counseling and Testing Division in order to equip graduating students with the skills and information needed when they enter the workforce.
For the morning session, Ms. Mary Ann M. Ingua discussed Power Dressing. Ingua gave some tips on how to properly dress-up during interviews. In the end, Ingua reminded the audience: "Ang personality dapat ang mangibabaw (Personality must stand out)."
The lecture was followed by the alumni talk where graduates from various fields shared their experiences upon graduation. The speakers also gave reminders and encouragement to the participants. "Huwag ninyo kalimutan kung saan kayo nanggaling, ‘wag ninyo kalimutan ang Inang Bayan, dahil tayo ang Iskolar ng Bayan para sa Bayan (Don't forget where you came from, don't forget the motherland, because we are the Iskolar ng Bayan para sa Bayan)," said Christian Clarito, one of the panelists.
In the afternoon, Job Hunting Strategies were discussed by Mr. Leandro Lorenzo G. Bautista. He said that knowing what industry one wants to work in helps in looking for jobs. He also discussed some suggestions on job interviews. According to him, job applicants must keep abreast with the latest issues in preparation for their interviews.
Prof. Mark Lester D. Chico then discussed Modern Business Correspondence. Among his tips to the participants was to be straight to the point when writing business correspondence.
Lastly, Atty. Erick Paul D. Peralta talked about the Legalities of Employment in order to inform the participants of their rights once they are employed. Among the topics
covered were wages and benefits of employees.
